Another OLD piece. This was from 2004. It's unfinished to this day, but I did learn a LOT doing this sculpt.
I think the movie had only been out for a year or so, and I thought it was pretty damn fun. I wanted to see about cutting my teeth with some mini busts (like the Angelina Jolie one in my gallery)
I suppose I might go back and finish this up one day, as the head is done. Trev
This is beautiful as usual, Trev. I'm curious...did you consider making the goggles/revolver from hard material (chemiwood or resin maybe) and grafting them on? I only ask as I can't imagine how you pull together technecal stuff so well in wax. Amazing
Carl
I probably already mentioned that I did some of Corgi Icon's 4inch figures (several of the Manchester Utd footballers, Coronation Street nonsense, Wizard of Oz etc) and would have loved the chance to do larger scale. Looks like the 6th scale dept's totally sewn up though...you're stuff is absolutely unbeatable!
Thanks Carl! I REALLY need to play around with doing the technical stuff from harder materials. those goggles would have been so much easier in resin...and the gun was never a success. I tend to take the long way around...and the only benefit from that is patience Wax or Castilene can be okay for technical stuff, but it doesn't compare when held up next to something carved from harder materials. There's a really talented artist on here that does a lot of weaponry for collectibles companies and so forth. really amazing: [link]
anyway, I appreciate the recommendation! You're tremendous with techincal work! and those tiny figures?! man...I don't envy you. That would be incredibly tedious Trev
Thanks Trev I just took a look at Oliver's work and holy toledo! You weren't joking...that tightness of detail's a joy. Has to be said that DA's been such a good find, it's a pleasure to have the opportunity to chat to guys like yourself about technique etec. Looking forward to more of your work
I agree, it's very cool to be able to chit chat with artists here! it's always a GREAT thrill to find awesome art as it runs the gamut here! Great paintings, great sculptures, great digital work...
Perfect likeness. As usually. But i would not expect anything less from you. It would be interesting to see some of your pieces, which you consider to be unsuccessful attempts. If this ever happened?
Wow, You really recognise Jude's facial structure and all in it!!
Lovely work, VERRY realistic!!
