Short Round Collage by TrevorGrove Short Round Collage by TrevorGrove
This, like Spalko, was a piece I did a long while back. It was actually a private commission for my friend.

I don't know if Sideshow has plans to produce this, but I'm doubtful with how hard it is to market Indy products.

This was a really fun project, though, and a cool challenge. The switchout hair was my friend's idea, so that the hat would look natural.

I LOVE Temple of Doom, so this is a really fun one to look back on. Also reminds me of Goonies.... Ke Huy Quan was awesome. :)

Ha! I like that spelling of "Hory Smokes!" :D

He was very fun, but children are like women, the subtlety is tough. Glad you like it so well!! Thanks man,
Trev

Hehe, I love that flick. Easily the most quotable of the series... well, for me anyway :XD:

Yeah, I know what you mean. I find those types of subjects incredibly difficult... I don't do subtle too good. Really need to practice them more often instead of doing craggy faced creatures all the time.

Hope Sideshow do pick this up at some point. Would be so awesome to get a Shortround figure! :D

Excellent sculpt, awesome in fact. How do you do a sculpt then remove the hair, then sculpt another top of the head with a hat? Do you do the sculpt bald then put something over it to then sculpt on the hair or hat?

Thanks!
The headsculpt was sculpted so that two different hair pieces could slide on and off. That way it was easier to make a hat look like it was properly seated on his head. :) It was something my friend requested, and I thought it was a good idea!

I've never done any kind of hair rooting, I just do sculpture. I'm really not good for any of that other stuff. :) But I encourage people to do that with my sculpts if they're interested in it.

That would rock! I'd love to sculpt a lot more Indy characters!

The Gentle Giant Short Round bust is cool. Unfortunately, I don't think it sold very well. :/ I bought one of the Mighty Muggs Hasbro made, though....those are great fun. :)

Thanks!

He is beautifully done, Trev. The more you like, are in tune with, the characters, the more "alive" the sculpts are.
