Sherlock and Watson by TrevorGrove Sherlock and Watson by TrevorGrove
I just wanted to say again how much I appreciate all of the new folks that have stopped by to look at the Sherlock and Watson sculpts.

All of your overly kind words are very much appreciated, :) and I'm glad fellow fans of the show are as excited as I am to see these upcoming 12" figures from Big Chief.

Many thanks to all of you!
Trev

Thank you! Yes, they are a bit creepy in this state. :)

These, and most of my work, are sculpted for toy and collectibles companies and used in product development. These were for Big Chief's Sherlock and Watson 12" figures.

Thanks again!

Thank you very much! I'm grateful that folks like yourself can appreciate the effort that goes into stuff like this. These days if feels like collectors feel entitled and don't have much respect for any of the hard work that goes into these things.

Oh man! Because I am a very visual and artsy person I get right into thinking of the  very beginning process and what the artist had to go through to make the most beautiful amazingly detailed figures out their! I could do it my self if really wanted to but I have a short attention span and tend to take a long time to finish. :P Keep up the Amazingly Brilliantly had work! ^^ :worship:

I actually would like to sculpt some slightly larger full busts of Baker Street's Finest, but I'd love to carve in the eyes this time...
These were made for toys, so the eyes will be painted on later. I really like sculpted in eyes on a sculpt.

It would be so cool to do a Roman-style bust for each character, then display them in a row like the ones at the Met. I love the idea of modern sculptures in Classic style. Your work is so beautiful.

Great idea! Yeah, I think we connect with these characters the way people used to connect with classic characters or Biblical figures...Pop culture deserves the same treatment. :)

It's kind of a weird connection, isn't it? You're right, that kind of fanaticism used to be reserved for people of power. I think what's so interesting about your little sculptures up here is the way you photograph them. The black and white gives them a regal feel!

Thanks! That was particularly difficult on that piece....You can spend days on hair if you have the time. It's sort of calming and infuriating at the same time. :)
