JEDI Luke by TrevorGrove JEDI Luke by TrevorGrove
Sideshow just started previewing the finished Jedi Luke premium format statue. The multimedia guys put together a really cool preview video! check it out: [link]

Here's a quick look at the head. I'll post more shots later when he's up for order.

1/4 scale, sculpted in wax. I think this was the hardest Luke I've ever had to sculpt...I just agonized over it for weeks. But...what better character to get to agonize over!? Pure nostalgia.

JEDI Luke by *trev-solo is an outstanding piece of work, the level of detail and realism he's captured in the pieces is simply staggering. I am in awe of the amazing likeness and texture work. ( Featured by Thebuild )

Amazing! Was this a lot harder to do since he changed appearance so greatly between Ep. 4 and 6?

Thank you!
Mark Hamill is always extremely difficult to sculpt, no matter what era. :) It's odd....he is so distinctive and formed into our memories from these Star Wars films.

As an insane - and thus harsh - Star Wars fan, I must say this is PERFECT. It looks exactly like him, seriously! That's amazing

His hair must've been really difficult. I wonder how did you do the skin pores? Did you use some sort of material with a special surface to touch the sculpture up? :?

I pick and choose the PF I buy. I much prefer the original trilogy, but did pick up the PF Anakin, which I thought was very well done. Would love a PF Obi-Wan to go with it. When it comes to the original trilogy, I haven't seen anyone nail Harrison Ford's likeness like you have. Sideshow would be crazy not to have you do a PF Bespin Han or Hoth Han.

Ah, thanks man! I would love to sculpt Han in PF form. It could happen someday, I suppose. Bespin Han would be the ideal choice, for me. I'd also love to do EP3 Ewan in PF form. That would rock too!

I did get a copy of the Anakin, and I think it's quite good! Production did great work on it.

Sorry I didn't respond to your note yet, I'll try to do that soon!

That's terrific! Thanks for letting me know! I'm still trying to get my hands on a copy of that one. I think that's the only original Trilogy Star Wars PF I've had an opportunity to do.

hehe, I doubt if Mark could care any less about this kind of stuff. Not say he wouldn't appreciate the art, I know he loves comics and pop culture, but he's seen it all when it comes to stuff of his character in Star Wars. :)

Star Wars sculpts are approved by lucasfilm people, so none of them are overlooked by the actors. I know some characters from other films get approved by the actors, but I don't know what that *really* means, or whether or not it's really them giving the thumbs up or down. :)

As great a job as you do with the sculpting, I think the painters rarely do it justice. Probably has something to do with the mass-production side of things, but still... a little more work on the skin tones would be nice. :)

Wow!!! Speachless.... That is very well done. Your weeks of agonizing have paid off. Nice and crisp details, perfectly smoothed and textured. you have officially raised the bar for yourself and now at 1:4 scale to boot.
Congrats, you are definately one of the big boys of sculpting.
