Oh, that's not bad at all! Clint is SO difficult. I was shocked to learn how difficult he is to sculpt.

Thank you for sharing!

Hi Trevor

The Clint head sculpt is superb and without doubt the best one I have seen at 1:6 if not ever!

Are they obtainable from you Trevor? I have seen one on Ebay as part of a custom figure...which I am trying to put together. The clothes are available but a top notch head sculpt is hard to find and infact others just look like troubled guys in ponchos next to yours!!

If fully painted examples are not available, I could finish as I am an Illustrator/modelmaker.

I'm not sure if you did it for a client or if you can sell a cast from it but I hope you can help.

Kind Regards

Thank you so much!

The Clint head was exclusive to the client, who made a limited edition custom 12" figure from it. Unfortunately it was sold out rather quickly :\

I really hope some day we see official Clint pieces....it's been ridiculous that they've never been able to strike a deal to do anything official.

Best!!

It's a bit scary how realistic your sculptures are...lol...not sure how you pull that off man. Great work.

:) Thank you kindly. I appreciate it....it's a hard process to do the realism, and it gets harder each year, because collectors want it better and better....it's hard to please anyone, as they're all critics. ;)
But it can be fun as well. Eastwood was particularly challenging....I'd like to sculpt him older some day.

Now, now. I am a big critic yet find this sculpt to be mindblowing in terms of likeness!
Wish you could work on every project of that "client", if you know what I mean :D (Big Grin)

I can imagine man when fans are involved, but dude, it's hard to find a flaw as far as I'm concerned, all of them are pretty amazing. ~b.

There totally should be! I can't believe someone hasn't made one yet.

You're very welcome! It's neat seeing these since I just started watching the Fistful of Dollars trilogy for the first time a few days ago.

Oh, that's great! The movies are so wonderful. I miss this style of film making.
If you like them, I recommend checking out "Once Upon a Time In the West". It's my favorite Sergio Leone western. :)

Fantastic likeness!
Do you also go through the nerve wracking period where the likeness seems to be slipping away the more you work on it lol?
What do you do, when that happens?
Reply
:icontrevorgrove:
TrevorGrove Featured By Owner Apr 17, 2013  Professional Traditional Artist
:) You are not alone....it happens all of the time.

What is important to realize is that it was not as good as you thought it was to begin with. That feeling of things slipping away is actually the necessary growing pains...the piece will be much better, but it feels like you're losing it.

Just keep pushing. It's not easy. If you are in a particularly tight spot, I recommend looking for more reference pictures of your subject....just getting some fresh reference helps me sometimes.
